Privacy Policy

SoundHop is a Windows app by Cobaltline Software that plays your PC's audio on AirPlay speakers such as HomePod. This policy explains what the app does with information. In short: SoundHop does not collect, sell or share personal data, and it does not send anything to us.

What stays on your PC

• Settings: your speaker list, volumes, speakers you added by IP address, language and the other options in Settings. They are stored in your Windows user profile and never leave your PC.
• Logs: a local log file used for troubleshooting (for example, connection errors and speaker names). It stays on your PC.

What goes over your network

• Speaker discovery: SoundHop listens for AirPlay speakers on your local network using Bonjour (mDNS).
• Audio: when you choose a speaker, SoundHop sends your PC's audio, encrypted, directly to that speaker over your local network. It does not go through the internet or through our servers.
• Name shown on the speaker: your PC's name (editable in Settings) is sent to the speaker so it can show where the audio is coming from.

Purchases

Trials and purchases are handled by Microsoft Store. SoundHop asks the Store whether your copy is licensed; we do not receive your payment details or Microsoft account information. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Diagnostics you choose to share

Settings → Diagnostics → Copy puts a troubleshooting report on your clipboard. Nothing is sent automatically. If you paste it into an email to us, we use it only to answer your request.

No analytics, ads or tracking

SoundHop contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.

Children

SoundHop is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
